This page says plainly what Athena Greek Eats records when you use this website. It is short because we do not collect much.
When you just look at the site
We count visits so we know which pages are worth keeping. That counting is done by this site itself — no advertising network, no third-party tracker, and nothing is sold or shared.
We do not store a cookie or anything else on your device for this. Instead, each time a page loads, our server turns your IP address and browser description into a scrambled code using a key that changes every day. We keep the code and throw the IP address away. Because the key changes daily, yesterday's code and today's code cannot be matched up, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next or recognise you on any other website.
Against that code we record:
- which page you opened, and the page that sent you here
- how long the page was open and being read, and how far down it you scrolled
- the country, state and city your connection appears to be in, and the name of the network or internet provider it belongs to — all of which Cloudflare, who serve this site, work out from the connection
- whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer, and which browser
That is the lot. No name, no email address, no advertising profile, and nothing that identifies you personally.
Don't want to be counted? Open your browser's developer console on this site and run localStorage.setItem('athena-analytics-optout','1'). The site will then skip counting you on that browser. Or email us and we will explain it over the phone.
When you send us an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, organisation, email address, phone number and the details of your event. We use those to answer you and to quote for the job. They are stored in our booking database and emailed to our bookings inbox, along with the IP address the enquiry was sent from, which helps us deal with spam.
We do not sell this information or pass it to anyone outside the business, other than the services that make the site and our email work (Cloudflare, who host the site and store the database, and Resend, who deliver our email).
Follow-up emails
If you send an enquiry and we have not managed to get back to you, or we have not heard back from you, we may send a follow-up email about that enquiry. We only ever email an address that came from the enquiry form — we never buy lists, and we never email someone just because they visited the site.
Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and it takes effect the moment you click it. You can also just reply and say stop, or call us. Unsubscribing only stops follow-ups; if we are in the middle of organising your event we will still reply to you.
How long we keep things
Visit records are kept while they are useful for understanding the site and are not linked to anyone. Enquiries are kept as business records so we have a history of the events we have quoted and catered.
Seeing or deleting what we hold
Ask us and we will tell you what we have about you and delete it if you want it gone. Because the visit counting is anonymous, there is nothing there we could find or delete for an individual — but anything from an enquiry we can.
